Play the game, overcome your fears, save the residents of the Shelter and try to find a new safe harbor… but is anything safe after the Fall?Īfterfall Insanity Extended Edition also includes Music inspired by the game. Buried underground, trapped in the claustrophobic space with no hope of escape, the shadows hide secrets darker and more terrifying than the madness that takes over residents of the Shelter 'Glory'. Today, when the fear of death on the surface has become merely an unpleasant memory, the once safe hideout became a prison. Only a few were fortunate enough to find a safe haven behind the gates of 'Glory'. Almost 20 years ago citizens of The Republic had to search for a shelter from the hell of the Third World War. I'm quite disappointed in the programmers. The year is 2035. Never before has a game refused to play solely based on my headset being plugged in. Maybe I'll give this another chance when I can play with speakers, but sheesh. In other news the 'ForceNoMovies=TRUE' also worked, and I could play with my headset, but that means I don't get any cutscenes, and I didn't bother playing more than a few seconds since there's no telling if other issues will pop up and I don't want to play with cutscenes disabled anyways. Looks like I can play this game but just not with a headset. This made me test trying the game out after simply unplugging my headset and, lo and behold, it started up just fine.Īlthough disabling my surround sound doesn't seem to help. Thus, also check your sound settings and you might get the game running. This mode simply deactivates any surround options. Luckily, there is a 'bypass' option within the Corsair control center, so I don't have to play without it. I can confirm that my crashes were caused by my Corsair Vengance 1500 headset. Thus, I checked other posts about crashes and finally found hints that USB-headsets may cause the crashes.
#Afterfall insanity extended edition crash drivers
Updating the physx drivers didn't changed anything and I didn't want to use the ini-file workaround. KD původně napsal:I also had the problem with crashes at start up. what do you mean by this? do i copy the dll from nvidea to the game folder? Thanks a lot! Nothing helped until I tried your solution. So far I know only 2 games with such an issue.
#Afterfall insanity extended edition crash Patch
Not sure if this can be fixed by updating the game somehow, but if it's possible, everyone will appreciate a patch for this. Note, that this will be required after each PhysX update. If you want to bother much you can do that one-by-one to figure out the exact folder in which to put the "correct". \common\Afterfall InSanity\Binaries\Win32\PhysXCore.dll and copy (with replace) to those folders. To make it work without installing-reinstalling and whatever you can backup the mentioned folders C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine, then take. There should be a total of 7 such folders usually. Both games use 2.8.4.4 from one of the latin-character folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine (for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine\82D8704BAB07). It's the same thing as with Contrast (game): some kind of version mismatch of PhysXcore.dll used by the game and being distributed with later versions of PhysX. Artimenius původně napsal:the above is not ana ctual fix and never will be, because in most cases the issue is with PhysX.
